I've already taken most of the substantive classes in the practice area I'll be entering after graduation, so now I'm trying to figure out what to take that might be helpful on the bar or useful in practice generally. Crim pro? Fed jur? Admin? Tax? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've heard evidence is good. I'm in it now and while it is difficult to follow everything because it is kind of taught in a, "This is how it would be done..." kind-of-way, as opposed to what you normally get in a class, I guess that is kind of what makes it useful. A number of people have told me evidence is one of the most useful/practical classes you can take.

I wouldn't have guessed federal income tax. What have you found useful about it?

Federal Income Taxation of Individuals
Secured Transactions/Bankruptcy
Conflict of Laws
ADR: Negotiation, Mediation, and Arbitration
Trusts and Estates/Trust and Estate Tax Planning
Real Estate Transactions and Finance

I'm not sure what else.

Best practical courses I've taken:

- pre-trial procedure (state)
- trial & appellate procedure (state)
- business entities
- estate planning

Only useful if you're looking to specialize in class-action work.

I'm not sure if anyone said this, but corporations seems to be very useful for the real world/life in general.

Don't take classes for the bar exam. That's what Barbri is for.

Take what interests you and/or what applies to your practice area.

If your 1st year Civ Pro class does not cover things like joinder, right to jury trial and res judicata, Civ Pro II is a good course to take if litigation is something that you might be into.

For a litigation practice, I've found insurance coursework the most useful; insurers play a significant role in a great deal of civil litigation. Closely behind that is clinical work, particularly if the clinic will get you on your feet in court.

Also, another vote for admin.

What about fed jur? I'm going into trademark law so if I ever end up in court that's where it'll be.
