We can get away with "your not gonna get none done that're way sir" here, but they tend to frown on that in the court room.

No, brief gets assigned next week. We get daily reading that has absolutely no bearing our upcoming brief. Then, in class instead of talking about pertinent stuff to the brief, it is a public Q&A to make sure we read and did our bluebook exercises. I feel as if I am auditing Badminton in UG all over again.

perhaps they want you to write your own brief and not write a group brief?
Isn't that the point of the class?

By far my lowest grade first semester, and I can already tell you it will be my lowest this semester.

No idea how to improve myself in this subject. I really have been trying (writing a post trial brief now), but I can just tell its still shit.

I don't even know how to do better. Fuck you LRW, you make my life suck.

Most people fear worse than they get. You'll probably do better than you think.

I just like that it's multiple grades vs one big grade. That way if you F'up you have at least a shot at fixing it instead of the usual waiting 6 weeks for an overall grade that you start out thinking you did good on untill a month and a half of worrying has you doubleguessing everything....... ........LSW sucks, but at least it's up front about it.

God forbid we have a class that, other than the requisite assignments is filled with unnecessary hours of busy work.

That busy work is your assignments.

In any other law class you read and discuss cases that don't end up on the final. Just do your job man.

The problem is, said "assignments" have no bearing on the brief, thus they have no bearing on my grade. Furthermore, the assignments take up copious amounts of time, more so than my other classes combined.

Busywork assignments are total bullshit. We spent time doing research exercises and writing client letters in the beginning of the semester. They have no bearing whatsoever on the final in the class. In other classes, while the cases may not end up on the final, it's possible / likely that you will see something at least tangentially related to it.

We get our final exam today and have had zero feedback on any sort of brief writing at all. It's fucking bullshit.

Was this too good for the HelLRW thread? Not that I'm against extra hate on LRW.

Brief is due Wednesday and I have yet to start writing my argument section. I have pretty much all the cases I'll need and a general idea/direction. Just gotta sit down and get to it tomorrow.

Also, 4 day weeks suck/3 day weekends kind of suck. Never thought I'd say that.

When you start to T6 words during your everyday life, you know you're really in trouble. Luckily, that's only happened to me like.... once.

T6 can eat a bag of dicks, as can the Bluebook and everything else about LW.

I'm waiting to get my graded memo draft back, and the prof said to the class, "Generally speaking, don't expect it until the morning of your conference."

NONE of the assignments in your others classes directly affect your grade either. It's a common theme in lawschool in all classes. The theory is it builds the skills to help on the said graded exam, same as the other classes.
Yeah, it takes more time. Yeah, it's a bitch. But it wouldn't be LRW without it!
Real life lawyering is more paperwork than anything else. Consider it a preview of the life we've chosen and our future for the next 40 years untill we die!
