How to insert a vertical bracket using Word 2010?
Hey all,
I've got a trial brief due tomorrow for Moot Court and was wondering whether someone could post instructions or screenshots on how to create the vertical parentheses as shown here in this sample brief on page 1?
http://www.scribd.com/doc/25869129/Samp ... vorce-Case
Much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Re: How to create dots for brief using Word 2011?
This may depend on what version of Word you're using (I'm on Word 2008 for Mac)...
Go to Format. Click Tabs.
Clear tabs in the dialogue box.
In the Tab Stop Position area, put where at the right margin you want your page number to be (usually 6 in).
Choose Right alignment.
Then choose the leader. Choose #2 I would assume.
Press OK.
Then you're back in the document.
Test it by typing something, then hit "tab" and see if it works (the dots go to where you set it - 6 in) and then type the page number.
Hope this is correct and it works. Good luck!

Yeah, I got those instructions from my prof, but I don't have a Mac. Office 2011.Judge Philip Banks wrote:This may depend on what version of Word you're using (I'm on Word 2008 for Mac)...

Turns out 2010 isn't all that much different from 2008. Figured it out. Have to either (1) Right click in the document and go to "paragraph" and follow your steps, or mouse over the "paragraph" portion of the menu bar at the top, click on the down/right portion then follow your steps. Re: How to create dots for brief using Word 2010?
Solved that problem. Now I need to figure out how the hell to make that pretty vertical line of parenthesis. Can't just manually space bar/tab as they don't line up properly that way!Judge Philip Banks wrote:Weird that they changed it that way...
