It's an intro is islamic law. So nothing too in depth. We did marriage, divorce, and will do family law, criminal and finance.

Overkill (300+pp) on Islamic finance, but easy to use and under $20 for a used copy:
Frequently Asked Questions in Islamic Finance (LinkRemoved)

Might try this for family law, but I haven't used it (not a supplement, but again, cheap used ($11)):
Islamic Family Law in A Changing World: A Global Resource Book

Criminal law stuff is pricier and probably not worth it for use as a supplement:
Islamic Criminal Law and Procedure: An Introduction

why don't you just do a search for books in your own library (or even the undergrad or graduate library) i'm sure you'd find something

Don't know OP's situation, but if you're median or below the odd "A" or "A-" in a fluff class like Islamic Law ain't gonna matter much.

It would boost a below median GPA a lot actually. Whether firms would care? Eh. But I'm not below median.

Eh, maybe. A and 3 B+'s is a 3.5. A and 3 B's is a 3.25. Either way, 1L electives can screw ppl b/c employers see ppl that pick fluff classes as slackers. No bueno.

Not at NU where I think the median GPA is like 3.92, but at schools which curve to 3.0 or below an A in 3 units of Ballet and the Law would be immensely helpful for someone at or below median.

i dont know why you guys think this is so incredulous, i would think that under this system every 1L would be desperately trying to fill up on as many of these classes as possible. i know i would be, unless employers knew the system well enough that they'd exclude the grades when looking at your transcript

assuming that uncurved = easy A, which may not always be the case i guess
People don't think about it. Get wrapped up in taking the courses they want to. But by 2L they figure it out.

My other class is Intellectual Property which is what I want to do so my transcript will look pretty legit. Luckily that class is under 40 too, and filled with LLMs.
Low class size + no/higher curve + LLMs FTW.
