I was wondering what kind of grades at a t30 regional powerhouse one needs to have a decent shot at local DA's offices. Grades aren't nearly as big a deal for DA's offices as they are for firms, right?

They still matter, but not nearly as much at DA's offices as they do for firms. Below median grades likely wont get you anything, but even median grades should give you a solid chance to at least get an interview if your T30 has no competition in the market as you say.
