Calculating GPA

Can anyone explain how to calculate one's GPA when the grades are numbers as opposed to letters? I've already googled it, and everything I find on Google involves letter grades.

Ask your school for the exact method to use for putting a GPA on your resume.PirateCap'n wrote:Can anyone explain how to calculate one's GPA when the grades are numbers as opposed to letters? I've already googled it, and everything I find on Google involves letter grades.
ETA: To calculate the Cum GPA used at your school it would just be the sum of each Number Grade * Credits in that Course, then divide by the number of credits total.A (90 to 100)
B (80 to 89)
C (70 to 79)
D (66 to 69)
F (Below 66)
I've seen this.PirateCap'n wrote:Can anyone explain how to calculate one's GPA when the grades are numbers as opposed to letters? I've already googled it, and everything I find on Google involves letter grades.
It might vary by the school. My school uses x.3 for + grades and x.7 for - grades.Geist13 wrote:I'm pretty sure the above is incorrect, I believe it is:
(A+) 97-100: 4.33
(A ) 94-96: 4.0
(A-) 90-93: 3.7
(B+) 87-89: 3.33
(B ) 84-86: 3.0
(B-) 80-83: 2.7
(C+) 77-79: 2.33
(C ) 74-76: 2.0
(C-) 70-73: 1.7
(D ) 67-69: 1.33
(F ) 0-66: 0
Yea, sorry, I think this is more likely, with flat A, B, C as 4, 3, and 2 respectively.Geist13 wrote:I'm pretty sure the above is incorrect, I believe it is:

Usually yes:darkarmour wrote:general question: is A- really 3.7? I always thought it was 3.666.
