Longer outlines =/= better outlines. Frankly, a really good 5 page outline that you know well is much more useful than a 100 pager you'd have to frequently flip through and read. Knowing the rules and the policies that animate them is what is most important. When your outline gets past 40 pages or so, you're likely filling it up with stuff you don't need.

IDK, different strokes for different folks. I like to make really long outlines (100 pages or so), read them through a few times, make a TOC for quick reference, and THEN boil it down into a 15-25 pg one I can effectively memorize.

different strokes for different folks. one of the smartest/most successful 3Ls i know (top 5-10 percent, COA clerkship, V10 in DC) regularly makes 150+ page outlines. i don't think i could do that; most of mine are in the neighborhood of 10-20 pages and thematically organized. i don't know how well i know any of this stuff but my shortest outline is 11 pages and it's for a class i feel like i know inside and out.

I honestly can't think of how I could possibly make a 100 page outline for any class, even if I included every minute detail. At some point your brain has to start condensing shit.

I get pissed that I'm making outlines that I can't use in my exams (all are closed book). Anywho mine are around 20 pages per subject, a little less for torts because all we went over were intentional torts/defenses/negligence.
