Just make sure you don't want to hook up with any of her friends later on down the road. It could prove a potential road block if you've hooked up with their friend.

seems to be pretty polarizing. i was talking with an associate who's a few years out who came back to UVA for mock interviews, and apparently there are a fair number of people who married others in their 1L sections and are having babies with them. otoh, the stories of sectioncest -> bitter failure are legion.

also, very fitting that the yesses are 6 and the nos are 9.

Is he/she hot? Because if not, it could seriously make people question your judgment. Judgment's a big part of law...

How crazy is this person? how bad do you want it? what are your chances with other students? Is this person possible relationship material?

and lastly: how good of a student is this person?

As I look back on the events that have unfolded over the past year and as sexist as this may sound, I think that it is a bad idea if you are a girl and just fine if you are a guy. The couple of girls that I have in mind haven’t seemed to recover from the reputational hit, while the guys have found their way to greener pastures.

Lastly, hooking up = fine; dating = no, no (at least IMO).

true- but if you become constant booty calls, then word might spread that you are dating the person, even if you are not. ( thus if you would consider dating her- then do it, if not... well just make sure both of you are drunk, so you have a rational explination)

unless you care about other 1Ls, and not necessarily limited to your section, then go for it. people will talk about it, but that never concerned me.

if she's ugly or something is wrong with her and you just want to fuck, then i might reconsider. but this depends if you care about people talking about you and ugly x hooking up.

as for the awkwardness, i think this is a bit overblown. you fucked, enjoyed it, and it didn't work out. what's the big deal? you can still talk, generally or about law school, and even hang out.

i think this is the best possible thing that could happen. you are not having to deal with someone in a relationship capacity, and you have sex. under the context of law school (especially stressful 1L), i think this is fantastic.

Trust me, they don't make you wear a scarlet "S" if you commit sectioncest. I really don't get the sense that people care that much who hooks up with who, unless they start pseudo-dating.

Three things-

2. Arrested Development is fantastic but REALLY hits its stride in Season 2, hang in there.
3. This discussion is moot if you're a guy, cause you're going to do it.

If you are attracted to the other person, then do it. If not, then don't do it. If you don't do it, be a good person and let this thread die. If you do wind up doing it, pics or it didnt happen.

It takes awhile to "get" the humor on Arrested Development. Once you do, hands down one of the funniest shows ever though.
