Title says it all, which do you prefer and why?
Westlaw Next -> Its the closest thing to cheating I know of. in LRW we were sent on a booked library scavenger hunt, expected time to finish was an hour or so. Saying screw it, I just used WLN and was able to wrap it up in about 20 minutes.

Your school must have signed the abusive legal agreement that Thompson Reuters requires for temporary passwords to WestlawNext. Sadly for me, mine has not.

I have a permanent password to WLN . . . . that is until I graduate. You don't have access. . . . . crazy.

I can have a case pulled up before you even finish logging into Lexis or Westlaw . . . for real research - Lexis - I prefer the display and find it easier to read on the screen.

Westlaw Next is the greatest thing to ever happen to law school students. This memo would take double the time if I didnt have access to it.

You all realize it Bluebooks for you, well 18th edition, not the 19th, but its still pretty sick.
EDIT:
The downside is lawschool.westlaw.com is arguably the slowest web site on the internet. Makes TWEN access frustrating.

Westlaw Next is the best probably, but the thing on Westlaw where you can pull up a list of cases just by using the keys in the directory is also pretty easy. Lexus I barely ever use except for when I want to pull up a brief for class.

+1
I also log onto Lexis for the points. Definitely a lot more generous than WestLaw.

last year I hated Westlaw Classic and used almost exclusively Lexis.
this year I am now using Westlaw Next 80% and Lexis 20%. Lexis had better speed up its "Next" (it's in development) or it will be obsolete PDQ.

What is so great about westlaw next? Are searches on there equivalent to google searches (where you actually can find what you want without using boolean)? Do they decent case overviews like lexis? ... I really don't like westlaw original and always just used lexis (westlaw is really not very user friendly and it's tough to find things since its designed like shit), and now when I tried to sign in to westlaw to try this westlaw next thing it told me that my account was deleted or something stupid like that. Not sure if it's worth the trouble of emailing the westlaw rep to fix my account.

I just got Westlaw Next this month. After taking the tutorial and doing some random searches I think I will use it more than Lexis this semester.
However, I have not yet tried the new Lexis interface, so I may be pulled back to Lexis. At least we have a choice!

I haven't used westlaw next too much, but I'm actually fine with normal westlaw. I'm very efficient at navigating it to make sure I get what I need

what are the point/prize selections like for Westlaw Next?
I was able to cash in 100 in Amazon gift cards last semester from Lexis, kind of hard to turn down free crap

Yeah, but I took the tour last night and it doesn't seem like a major re-format. They're just cleaning up the tabs and making it a bit easier to use. I like it though.

I think its crazy for any law firm not to use Westlaw Next, even if its more expensive. It is sooo good. I got an A on my second memo because of westlaw next. <3 westlaw next.
