How many books do you need to buy for second semester 1L?
I realize this is a very general question, but overall, do most spring classes just pick up where fall classes left off, using the same casebooks?

No, you generally have all new courses with the exception of legal writing.

Fall - Spring
Torts I - Torts II
CivPro I - CivPro II
etc.
With the exception of Legal Writing, every class first year here continues second semester. Isn't this how many 1L schedules are set up?

From what I've seen, that's not how most schools do it.

That's an odd schedule. I have crim, con law first semester and property, torts, etc second. Legal practice is the only one that continues.

I still didn't hear the answer to this question:
Do Contracts I and Contracts II both use the same Contracts casebook?
I started wondering about this recently considering the slow pace my class is making through the casebook.

well my school, and from these forums, i've seen other schools have two semesters of Contracts. i haven't had my second semester yet but i guess depending on the prof first semester is common law and second covers the UCC, if your prof actually does cover the UCC.
*edit* to above poster, my contracts ii course uses the same casebook.

If it wasn't already clear, this will vary greatly by school.

I would suspect that in the OP's case he will be using the same book both semesters. But my school is one of the ones which has three one semester and a different three the second semester, so I am basing this entirely on a hunch.

Different at every school.
For the courses which are 2 semesters, we use the same casebook. For Example, Civil Procedure I and II.
