Unpaid Summer Internships in London or Geneva?

Looking ahead at 1L summers, I find myself captivated with the possibility of working with NGOs in London or Geneva. Position is nonpaid.
For those who did such internships in college, graduate, or law school, roughly how much should I budget for such internships? How much would transportation (daily and trans-Atlantic flight), apartment rental, food, miscellaneous cost?
