3-7 hours work during 1L?

Is 3-7 hours work during my 1L reasonable, or would it be unwise/stupid?

Also, is 1L the same as a 40, 50, 60, 70 hour work week?

Your 1L grades are critical for your immediate internship/job prospects. I would not risk any distractions.

How much of a risk is 3-7 hours, in your opinion? BTW, I am used to very large and stressful workloads (60-70 hour weeks)

As the above poster said, it's possible. However, why would you want to risk any distractions? Do you absolutely need to work your first year?

I have an off-and-on tutoring job I plan on keeping. It's anywhere from 20-40 bucks an hour, so even a few hours here or there would put a little extra coin in my pocket. The most I would ever consider is 10 hours/week though, and with being unable to commit to a set schedule this semester with them (it's ACT prep, so the classes have, for the most part, already begun or are beginning in the next week), I probably won't have a class to teach (with dedicated hours to put behind it) until late December/January. I may take some private tutoring work where I can though (that's the 40 bucks an hour stuff) and make some quick cash.

Did you do this during your first semester of LS too?

6-7 hours is fine but those hours must come out of your fun time.
