TLS Collected Wisdom on Success in Law School
My guide: Focuses on the skill of taking a law school exam, and how to teach yourself that skill. I was the top of my class 1L year at a T14 .
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=120673
I also teach an exam strategy course in the fall, more details about which can be found on this website.
Other guides:
Mr. Carter's Guide. Mr. Carter was top 10% after 1L year at a T14.

"Guide to 1L Success from someone ranked #1" by mscarn23
http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 3&t=157251
DISCLAIMER: Like some others in the thread, I disagree that the amount of effort described by that poster is required for strong, even top of the class, performance. It's the first guide posted from "this season" however, and certainly contains good advice and discussions. While I don't vouch for it as strongly as the others, I include it for the sake of completeness.
Talon's guide, in my opinion the best and most thorough guide written on success in law school. Talon was in the top few students at a T10:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=123699
Arrow’s legendary advice. Arrow was top of the class at a lower ranked school but transferred to a T10.

Xeoh85's Advice on Success in Law School. Xeoh85 was #1 at UCLA.

DISCLAIMER: I have the same general concern here as I do with mscarn23's guide. I've seen a lot of people work that hard without results, so please look to these guides for the useful advice and not for justification of trying to just out-work the competition.
MegaTTTron's advice for doing well at law school. MegaTTTron got a pile of As and is transferring from a tier 1 to a top 6 school.

Wahoo1L's Advice for doing well at a T10. Wahoo1L was top 3%+.

JayCutler'sCombover's blog / advice. Jay did very well and transferred under circumstances much like Arrow).

TLS article about success in law school (unique perspective):
http://www.top-law-schools.com/success- ... chool.html
DISCLAIMER: This guide is a little extreme, and gets a lot of press because it's on the site as an article rather than as a post in this section. It's got a good perspective, but don't think it's gospel because it came "first."
"Lazy's Guide to Top 10% Without Working Nights or Weekends"

DISCLAIMER: This one is new (as of the 8/12/11 update to this post) and I have not read through it to vouch for it.

However, this is a good compilation, and should be stickied.

You posted in it after it had already been stickiedToTransferOrNot wrote:Protip: Asking to get your own threads stickied = lulzScribe wrote:p.s. mods - I really do think this thread could use a sticky, since it's the kind of stuff students are always looking for and talking about.
