Does any firm reject a PDF resume?

I use Linux, and OpenOffice's support for doc file sometimes sucks, so I have my resume in LaTeX (compiled into DVI and PDF). WYSIWYG word processors suck....they create so many compatibility issues.

But I am afraid that sometimes a pdf resume is not accepted and it'll be a pain to convert it into a MS Word document again.

Any ideas? Can I stick with a pdf resume?

Symplicity, the service used for on grounds interviews, will I believe only accept word documents, but I could be wrong.
Thanks. Our school has Simplicity and it does accept PDF.

For electronic applications, I always send a PDF resume to avoid formatting issues.

This and I just find it way more professional. If they open it in Word, chances are there are going to be spell/grammar-checker false positives marked, which can't be a good first impression.

That's what I'd think, too... Not to mention if you had inadvertently turned on the "track changes" option. :P

+1. Also, i did all my firm apps via email & pdf attachments. Didnt mail any hard copies. Im pretty sure it didn't affect my results. But that was in a smaller market. Might be different in NYC, etc.
