This is relevant to my interests.

Much will depend on whether or not you are enjoying the experience of law school, and ultimately, if after your first year you still see yourself as a practicing lawyer (even if not in a corporate setting).

If you have a passion for law, less than stellar grades should not prevent you from pursuing that. If you have bad grades and you think you will hate law then it might be time to get out.

I think that everyone ITE needs to realize that this will be the lost generation -- regardless of school (sans HYS), jobs will become more elusive. Jobs will not be returning any time soon. But does that mean you should stop your education? I think there are great arguments on either side, but I would say pursue it if you really want it. There may be a time in the near future where top firms realize the over aggrandized dreams of T14 graduates are easily replaced by T2-T3 graduates. Who knows? Whatever the case, pursue the degree if you feel some connection to law... else drop out and make your own way.

Thanks, and for the record I am a 0L who will be attending in the fall. In an ideal world I will be in the top 30% at least, however, I am not so naive as to think that falling somewhere below the median is not a possibility.

This is really a personal decision and will depend on your career goals and background. If, for example, you attended law school straight out of undergrad and have a relatively worthless liberal arts degree, then there is a stronger incentive to stay. ITE your chances of satisfactory employment are not great anyways, so you might as well invest the time in your education. You have in-state tuition so your debt load will not be horrible.

On the other hand, if do you have something to fall back on, you have to ask yourself how badly you want to practice law and in what context. Around median you still have some decent opportunities for gov and PI work. The strength of your school's LRAP will be a factor, but for many this path is much more rewarding than biglaw anyway. Again, it is a personal decision.
