Android 1.6+ Beta Testers for Civ Pro App

Post by Sequoia90 » Sat May 08, 2010 9:04 pm

Hey guys,

I am a 0L and have dabbled in making some android apps in my time before heading to law school.

I am trying to make an app for people actually in law school, who would like to use their phone as a reference. So far, I have just made a Civ Pro portion of the app, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to provide some feedback.

It's free (no ads, either), and is available on the android market at:

I would really love to hear what you think. Is this even useful for civ pro? Does the search make life easier?

I really appreciate your feedback.

Maybe you should wait until you take Civ Pro.

He'll probably understand it better BEFORE law school, seriously, half the damn class is bad law anyway

I'm not too familiar with the Android API, but what language did you use? I'll be happy to do a thorough review if you're willing to show the source & it's in C or C++.

I really appreciate the offer!

It's a combination of java and XML, using widgets pre-loaded on the SDK.

Ah sorry, I'm not a java guy, haha. C++ for ten years, though.

I've got the new vzw droid on the way, will give it a whirl when it arrives.

What does it do? Is it just the rules in hypertext?

It's very similar to the other rules apps out there (there are a ton), but the biggest advantage is that it has a search function.

You start typing in a topic, and the suggested rules will show up below your search window. Click the rule you want to see and it will show up.

Use: you need to see the rule for pretrial conferences, but can't remember the rule or the Title that it's in. You just start typing in P-R-E-T-R and the suggestion for pretrial conference will show up right there, taking you right to the rule.

And yeah, it's just the rules. Nothin' fancy.
