It's one thing if you study for a B. B's are sort of easy.

But when you are studying to put yourself in contention for an A... it's nerve wracking.

I don't know whether to say that's awesome or just ridiculous. It's awesome because future interests SUCK; on the other hand, as far as I can remember 1L, I think future interests was the only concept I ever learned that took more than a day of grasping and practicing.

That is, at least on my property exam, future interests separated the men from the boys. I cannot even imagine Property without contingent remainders and the like!
I know future interests really well... WE were quized on it, but it was not in the final....

Someone please console me and tell me some professors just make exams nobody can finish. I heard my classmates' postmortem, and absolutely everyone seems to be in the same boat, so that is something, but I watched my word count, and this was an unusually short answer, even for me. Some time during the first question I realized there was no way I could finish, and I had to stop and take a few deep breaths. By the end of the test, I had about half the allotted time left for the last question, and I was just banging out answers as quickly as I could. My answer was very, very short, though, and there were so many major issues I just didn't have time to cover. I heard other people saying similar things, but I don't think anyone ran out of time as badly as I did. Someone claimed to have finished very early, and I am absolutely in awe. My mind hurts just thinking about it!

Please, someone console me. This is not an irrational fear.

I had the same feeling coming out of my crim exam last semester. I got an A-...

Taking a law school exam is like getting stuck in the woods with your classmates and a grizzly bear. You can't outrun the bear, it reaches a top speed of 30 MPH. You can't climb a tree because the bear can climb better than you. There is only one viable option: run faster than your classmates.

Moral of the story: The exam was designed to be brutal. No one hit all the issues, and I doubt anyone "finished." The curve will work itself out in the end. Assuming that you did well last semester (you're posting ITT), it's a safe bet that you performed relatively well. So take a few deep breaths and stop thinking about it right now... Don't lose sight of the big picture. Now go study for your next final!

Not for someone who has produced curve-busting exam answers last semester, it shouldn't.

I keep feeling like I'm doing well (only 1 more to go!) but I can't shake this lingering feeling that I'm completely missing the point. I just feel really weird this time around, like it's survival or something, instead of rocking the exams out. I know I'm trying hard, but I just feel like I had something last semester that I don't now.......I really do think it might be irrational but man, it just sits there eating at your stomach. How the hell are you supposed to beat every single one of your classmates again? It almost seems mathematically impossible right now. I don't feel like these are slam dunk A's here. I feel pretty certain that I wrote an A quality exam for one class, but then again that class was open note and I'm sure most people feel that way. I love venting to this thread. Thanks thread!

I can't post my estimated rank due to non-anonymity, but I didn't do so well that I can afford to get straight Cs this semester!

I wrote about 2,600 words. That is painfully short even for me. I am screwed.

The one exam I took that I feel that certain about was so open-book that the professor not only allowed but encouraged Internet and Wikipedia use. I'll bet everyone feels good about that one, since we could go look shit up if we wanted to.

Eh, you write so eloquently that I doubt you could write a median exam. At worst this exam puts you above the curve and you can own on the rest of them. Good luck Opera!

You are far too sweet! Even if that were true, no one writes eloquently in the middle of a panic attack. If I was writing in English I'll be happy about it.

I think I wrote like 4,000 words (first time I ever looked...is that a lot? I know there is a ton of musing about whether or not word count has any effect on grade, just wondering)

But still, exam was so long, so crazy, so many issues. I honestly don't think it was possible to finish, but i could have at least touched on some topics. There was 7 people challenging the statutes/enactments. I probably fully analyzed one, adequately analyzed 4, partly analyzed 1, and basically wrote one sentence at the end about another

I am fucked. At least this belongs in this thread.

I wish I had the opportunity to write in my exams. All multiple choice (yes, even con law). Long story short, I might have failed property.
