Hey Guys,

I'm a OL entering as a 1L next fall at GW. I was wondering if any of you guys had taken any of the Summer Preview Courses. I've read what's on the boards already. Most say it's a waste of time and money, but since I took the Kaplan LSAT prep course they're offering it for only 30 bucks (it's just a two day seminar). Is there any edge I can get by taking this course. My thought right now is that since it's only thirty bucks I would prob do it as long as it won't hurt. Anyone with any kind of relevant experience??

Thanks guys.

Getting to Maybe would be more sexually satisfying.

For 30 bucks, you get a syphilitic whore and some rat poison to snort.

I would hate to see the quality of hooker and blow one could purchase for 30 bucks.

I went to the Kaplan First year Preview course in NYC last summer. It was a weekend or two before school started. I don't know if I would say it was a waste of time - some of the information was somewhat useful, however, it will IN NO WAY give you ANY kind of edge over everyone else. At the end of the day (weekend), all it really did was help me meet a few people that were going to my school. Also, the guy who wrote Getting to Maybe spoke at the one I went to, which was pretty interesting. It's informative and (somewhat) interesting, and since it's free I don't see the harm in going, but don't expect to come out with some divine understanding of law school. It's almost like an extra two days of "orientation"...

I don't know where you are, but where I live $30 won't even get hookers OR blow.
