0L Question re Picking a Section

Post by peterswe » Mon Apr 26, 2010 9:05 pm

Hey all,

I have a silly and possibly dumb question.

My school is giving me the option to pick a section for next fall. The information they gave me lists all of the professors for each section. I looked up these professors on ratemyprofessors.com, and it seems like one section is STACKED with profs who people consider brilliant/funny/extremely helpful.

Should I just pick this section, or should I be worried that all the kids "in the know" are going to pick this section and I wind up in a section full of gunners who screw the curve?

Silly.... I know, but whatever.

I'm just a 0L, but I say pick that section anyway. That's where all the cool kids will be.

More general question, would the exams be curved against your section or across the board?

I doubt its just gunners who go to ratemyprofessor and see which profs are the best. If you think a particular sections offers the best classroom experience, might as well go for it.

Toss a coin, you have no way of knowing before school starts.

Always go with positive ratings if all else is equal. It might even be the correct play to take the good ratings over a better schedule in terms of times of classes... but that depends!!!

Curve is based on sections, if I'm not seriously mistaken.
