Opinions on CALI lessons?

How do you guys feel about CALI lessons? I tried the contracts ones last semester, but got fed up and just read the E&E instead. Still got a 90 in the class.

I think they're useful, but not my first line of study aids. I like to go through them as I am outlining as sort of a double-check that I am understanding things correctly.

Should you generally save the CALI lessons for later in the semester, in order to review for exams? Or is it o.k. to use them as the class goes on, to reinforce casebook and EE reading?

I found that they're very hit or miss. It was helpful as extra practice problems though once I finished an E&E or something. I did them all at the end of the semester.

They are fantastic. I used them in a very specific way: during reading period, once I had gone through my outline enough times, done all of my professors practice exams on file, read the relevant supplement material (usually E&E), I would use CALI lessons as a study aid to reaffirm what I had already learned. Basically, when I was sick of all of my other materials, to the point to where I didn't want to study, I used CALI as something new and different that had yet to get stale. I found the lessons pretty helpful for Torts, Contracts, and Crim Law. Hope this helps!

Depends. There's been a few times where CALI and my prof have disagreed over something. It's great for evidence, though.

I use them for multiple choice exams. I don't use them if the exam is going to be an issue spotter, I just haven't found it helpful.

There have definitely been times that my prof and CALI disagreed, but for that matter I've had a few times where my prof and Barbri disagreed, too. I just note the discrepancy, and then look it up. If I'm still not sure, I ask the prof. Just remember what your prof said is "right" even when it's wrong. :)

It's ok, but need to be careful that the CALI lesson is teaching you the same law as your professor teaches.

In my experience, they are useful when its a class that closely adheres to a specific set of rules (ex: Evidence or UPC Rules of Succession in an Estates class). Beyond that the value drops dramatically because professors teach their classes differently and the variance between what they care about, and what the CALI lessons focus on is too great to be that helpful.

This. As far as timing, I like to save them until the end of the semester. If I find that they're worth anything, it's at least a change of pace from reading outlines/supplements/old exams.

This.

The disparity in quality depending on the subject and lesson is unbelievable.
