i heard about that one, but nobody ever mentions it on here. can you compare it to dressler?Danteshek wrote:Learning Criminal Law Through Advocacy Argument, by John Delaney.
Sure. Dressler will tell you what the law is in detail. Delaney will tell you what the elements are of each crime, and show you how to apply the elements to the fact patterns (basically what you need to get a good grade). You should get both books and work primarily from the Delaney. Do the Delaney chapter in addition to your regular reading as you cover each topic in the class. Then refer to Dressler when you want further detail on any particular doctrine.sayan wrote:i heard about that one, but nobody ever mentions it on here. can you compare it to dressler?Danteshek wrote:Learning Criminal Law Through Advocacy Argument, by John Delaney.

It's not available at Amazon, other than a 3rd party seller, so I went to his site, and he has two other books - "How To Do Your Best On Law School Exams" and "Learning Legal Reasoning". Since the Crim law is $40 w/ shipping and the set of three is $99 shipping included, I figured I'd get all three. Any experience with the other two?Danteshek wrote:Sure. Obligatory 'don't read [strike]crim law[/strike] supplements before you start law school' comment.Me-a Culpa wrote:Thanks, I have "Getting to Maybe" and was thinking about LEEWS, so it's probably not necessary. I just figured what the hell since it's only a few bucks more after shipping.
Wonderful! Thanks for the advice, I'm not sure I've read that anywhere....patrickd139 wrote:Obligatory 'don't read [strike]crim law[/strike] supplements before you start law school' comment.Me-a Culpa wrote:Thanks, I have "Getting to Maybe" and was thinking about LEEWS, so it's probably not necessary.
