Path 1 - Get prestigous/L.A. law degree, work in mailroom of agency for $10/hour and no benefits as agent trainee. Probably get weeded out after a couple years anyway.

Path 2 - Be close friends with A-list/first round talent.

TITCR. Like some other paths (becoming a senator / congressman / president / judge, becoming a TV anchor, etc.) it requires a lot of luck, knowing people, and being in the right place at the right time. It's too small a field to be able to crack meritocraticly (can I copyright that word?).
