There are several 2L's here who became RA's this year. It doesn't seem to be that much work but it definitely impacts your freedom if you have designated rounds or on duty time. If you were an RA as an undergrad it's probably about the same time commitment, less if you can get into the grad housing.mharrin5507 wrote:anyone else considering being a RA in their second year for the benfit of room and board?
I'm an RA in UG right now. It makes me want to kill myself.Georgiana wrote:There are several 2L's here who became RA's this year. Does being an RA cramp your style?
Can you still bring female guests into your room at all hours of the night?
Give them alcohol?
And what if you're "cool" and don't want to bust people on your floor for things? DO you get in trouble?
Graduate housing - most schools have it. Most aren't specifically associated with law schools.vanwinkle wrote:There are law schools with residence halls? WTF?

That's precisely my motivation and interest: $$$. The resume stuff is just an afterthought. I could alleviate 30K by fulfilling this responsibility the last 2 years of law school. And yes - the hall in which I'll reside is 4 floors with UGs on floors 1 and 2...wow, that almost reads like a LG setup. Anyway, my ONLY concern is sufficient study time.ATOIsp07 wrote:It's worth being an RA just for the fact that you're alleviating the debt burden of your law school tuition. And it doesn't hurt your resume, either.
Credited. Most, but not all, of the people I know regret living in the grad housing. Thank God I decided to get an apartment instead, which is amazing.dextermorgan wrote:or you know, lived in.Halibut6 wrote:Graduate housing - most schools have it.
