There are several 2L's here who became RA's this year. It doesn't seem to be that much work but it definitely impacts your freedom if you have designated rounds or on duty time. If you were an RA as an undergrad it's probably about the same time commitment, less if you can get into the grad housing.

I'm an RA in UG right now. It makes me want to kill myself.

Resident Advisor or Research Assistant. The second is part of my Iowa scholarship, so definitely. Its only 10 hrs a week for the 2l and 3l years

It's worth being an RA just for the fact that you're alleviating the debt burden of your law school tuition. And it doesn't hurt your resume, either.

Question:

Does being an RA cramp your style?
Can you still bring female guests into your room at all hours of the night?
Give them alcohol?

And what if you're "cool" and don't want to bust people on your floor for things? DO you get in trouble?

Graduate housing - most schools have it. Most aren't specifically associated with law schools.

That's precisely my motivation and interest: $$$. The resume stuff is just an afterthought. I could alleviate 30K by fulfilling this responsibility the last 2 years of law school. And yes - the hall in which I'll reside is 4 floors with UGs on floors 1 and 2...wow, that almost reads like a LG setup. Anyway, my ONLY concern is sufficient study time.

Credited. Most, but not all, of the people I know regret living in the grad housing. Thank God I decided to get an apartment instead, which is amazing.

Usually you just have to be awake at certain time, which means you can be studying you just have to be on call. You would probably have to call specific law schools, as it might vary from institution to institution.

I was an RA during UG. You do not want to do this during law school.

I know someone who was an RA at GULC. AFAIK there were no major problems w/it.

Edit: not a UG one, but the law school equivalent since GULC has dorms. I don't know what responsibilities it entailed.
