Criminal Law.

Guys!!! I bought the Emanuel for Crim. Law. Any other good study aid out there. My professor said his job was to raise questions rather than tell us the law... so I'm on my own for this class. I need as many good sources of crim law as possible

I have been recommended LaFave. I have heard good things about Dressler, but my professor doesn't like it. I'm not sure if that means it might lead me astray.

My casebook is by LaFave, and let me tell you that the book sucks!!! It is sooo vague and unclear! The book sucks and the professor does too... I hope the supplement or hornbook does not.

dressler is the tits. glannon for civpro is the tits. chemrinksy for conlaw is the tits.
those are the only tits supps out there so far IMO

Dressler is good, but remember to focus on the issues your professor talks about. Also remember that Dressler can be highly opinionated and rants angrily against certain things, IE transferred intent.

i don't think that's opinionated, that stuff just doesn't make sense. also felony murder. but yeah if your prof thinks felony murder is tits, then be careful with that section in dressler. kinda obvious advice, even for tits supps

Dressler = gold
E&E = meh, ambiguous in many places, has some major holes
Emanuel = pick up, place in trash can

From general to more specific: Sum and Substance, Black Letter Outline, Understanding Crim law...Dressler really breaks it down. If Dressler ever publishes a lecture series to his casebook, there would be no point in making crim law anything but an internet class. Soo, big thumbs up from me.
I haven't looked at E&E or Emanuels, but if your casebook isn't Dressler, then you might ask your professor what he thinks about Dressler...if he likes him, 80% of your work is done for you.
