Hey guys,

I am thinking about transferring and I need to improve my GPA by a couple of points this semester. I want to know what grades I need to get in each course to meet my goal. Can anyone help me figure this out? FURTHERMORE, has anyone improved dramatically during their second semester- shooting up the ranks by like 50 or improving their GPA by 4 or even 5 points- please share.
What was your GPA before and what is your gpa now- what did you get in each course and how many credit was each course worth.

thank you :)

There is.

A = 4.0
A- = 3.67
B+ = 3.33
.
.
.
F = 0

So, if all your classes are of equal credit value, if you have 2 B's and 2 B+'s, your gpa is (3+3+3.33+3.33)/4 = 3.165.

If your classes have different credit values, you multiply the grade in that course by the number of credits and add it to the others, and divide by the number of credits. So:

(3*4 cr) + (3*3 cr) + (3.33*4 cr) + (3.33*4 cr)/15 = 3.176.

And then just add whatever grades you think you might need to transfer. If you need to go to the registrar's office for this, I wouldn't recommend transferring to a more intellectually challenging school.
