For your health forms it takes a while for them to check the boxes off but if you call 850-644-3608 it's the Thagard Student Health Center and they will look it up for you to make sure they've received everything, they're very nice about it.

On the other forms they checked off the boxes for me the very next day after I had faxed them in. Also I received the exact loan amount that equals their CoA.

Anyone know when we are supposed to be getting our schedules?

Just emailed Ms. Kessinger. She said that we will receive information about our schedule in August a couple of weeks before classes begin via email and will receive a hard copy of our schedule at orientation.

I mean the amounts listed on Blackboard.

And I second the thanks to Fiery for emailing about schedules.

My subsidized & unsubsidized FAFSA together cover the tuition + a couple thou extra. Had to take a Grad Plus loan on top of it for the living expenses.

I just found this forum, not really sure why it took so long, but are any 1L guys still looking for roommates? I'm hoping to live within biking distance of the law school.

Anybody else have trouble opening the orientation registration link sent out by Ms. Kessinger? The link didn't work for me.

I got two emails from her, copies of each other, but the link works in one and not the other.

:? I received two e-mails too, neither of which had a working link. Actually, one of the e-mails was just record of a recalled e-mail. I'll just call them tomorrow.

Edit--> Nevermind. Apparently, I received THREE e-mails. I found the working link :D thanks.

What organizations were you interested in?

I didn't check off any. I'm really unsure which, if any, I'm interested in. I definitely plan on joining at least one; I'm assuming I'll figure it out as time progresses.

And we're getting another t-shirt! (At least I assume so since they asked for our t-shirt size again haha)

Yeah. We got one at ASD. I wouldn't mind another one though.

I hope section assignments are released soon. Otherwise, all the good used textbooks may be gone. At least we can purchase the Property casebook now (which I've done), since that book is the same across all sections. Patiently waiting....

Why would they be gone? We're the only people needing them.

Because Professors from other law schools may require the same casebook. Hypothetically, if this is the case (which is very likely), and if their sections are assigned before ours, then they'll have first dibs on the best (no writing/no highlighting) used casebooks. I'm pretty frugal, so I'm always looking for the best deal in anything I purchase--to include textbooks.

The cheapest "new" Property (Dukeminier) casebook is $142 at Amazon.com. I bought one "like new" for approx. $90 last week.

Got it. I assumed you were talking about the campus bookstore, so that's why I asked. That being said, if you're ordering online, how will you know how marked the books are (beyond what the seller claims)?

Truth is, you will not know for "sure" until after you've received the item. Buyer be warned. But here's what I do:

If a seller states something along the lines of "no markings" or "no highlighting/writing", then I send the seller a private message asking him/her to confirm the claim.

If the seller lists the condition as "like new", then I copy/paste Amazon's word-for-word description of "like new", and I send the seller a private message asking him/her to confirm if their use of "like new" conforms to Amazon's description below (insert copy/paste). On one occasion, the seller responded apologetically because her use of "like new" didn't conform to Amazon's description.

In short, be reasonably skeptical because of the inherent risk involved, but don't over due it. I believe Amazon has recourse measures in place in the event someone falls victim to false advertising.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
