I was recently accepted and will be sending my seat deposit if I don't get some other letters this week.
How is South Texas respected around the rest of the state?

I have heard that one should choose South Texas over Wesleyan if accepted to both. What is the general consensus?

my personal belief (and i think general consensus) and rationale behind choosing STCL is absent an acceptance to UT, baylor, UoH, or SMU, STCL is a strong choice comparable to Texas Tech. of the remaining schools Wesleyan, st. mary's, and Thurgood, STCL is the better choice.

i think it's debatable whether or not texas tech is any better than STCL.

from my interactions with attorneys at my internship with a DA's office, it seems STCL is respected regionally due to their advocacy program, comparable only to baylor (or at least this is my hope haha). i was recently told that the top 10% can generally find placement with larger/well paying firms during second summer and after graduation. i am unsure on the validity of this though....

anyways, good luck! hope i see ya at STCL.

I got in at both, and declined TX Wes, even with a decent scholarship. They are too new.

I'm headed there :) Is anybody going on the 30th? How long after your acceptance did you receive scholarship and/or financial aid info?

Hello,

My name is Justin, I found this forum while searching the internet. I will be attending STCL this fall and I too will be in need of a place to live that is closer to the school and has some roommates since the tuition will leave me largely broke and unable to afford my current apartment. I'm studious and quiet and really need some like minded students for roommates. If someone is thinking about getting a house or apartment please hit me up with a PM. I'm thinking something around $500+ utilities. Thanks and good luck.

Another member of the class of 2014 checking in. I currently live in the Clear Lake area of Houston (southwest for those not from here) but I am actively looking to move inside the loop to save gas/my sanity from the hellish commute. I'm excited and ready to get down to business!

RENT $600
I have a room for a Town home that will be available on August 1st, 2011. The Town home is 10-15 minutes from South Texas School of Law. It is located on 610 & Stella Link. The Town Home has 2bedrooms/2 bath. It has a kitchen, dinning room, washer and dryer a garage and a small backyard. The town home is in a gated area full of other town homes. The landlord for the Town home will be responsible for maintenance. It is just like living in a apartment. I have a roommate who goes to the University of Houston Law Center and he has the Master bedroom. I will be going to LSU Law School so who ever wants to start the 12 month lease in August should send a message.

I will be attending STCL this fall as well. Houston will be completely new for me being 1000+ miles from where I have grown up.

anyone relocating and looking for decent housing should go over to

har.com

you can search residential leases and it is one of the best realty sites I have seen.

Starting my second year as a PT student so if anyone has questions feel free to PM me.

I'm a visiting student taking a summer class at STCL... I didn't know about the 80% mandatory attendance requirement before I registered, and now it's too late to cancel it. I will be working this summer, so I might have to miss a couple classes-

Do they really strictly check the attendance? I'm getting really worried... Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks! :)
