What was Bridge's PR exam like?

I am essentially forced into taking Bridge again since he's the only kid in town teaching PR for fall (since it's a co-requisite for clinic). But I loathe the thought of enduring another semester with him.

Anyone have any insight on which class is better?

1. Securities Regulation (Steinberg)
2. Oil and Gas Contracts (Lowe)

Geez! I found an Amazon copy (ring bound) for $340, but that still seems more than a little ridiculous.
I feel that paying $120 for an e-Book is ridiculously high, too.
It seems even a little more ridiculous when you hardly use it in class. Also - the e-book is tightly secured. You get access through the publisher's website (it opens up in a little window and will only let you print or open one section at a time). And access expires after the semester. So, it's $120 for a book that you won't use much and have only temporary access to. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend the class.

I took this class and it was insufferable. I could've literally never attended class and I would've made the exact same grade that I ended up with. The last 1/3rd of the class was a waste because classmates made presentations about the oil industry in their countries but that may have changed now that the class is split into a JD section and an International student section. However, this will not change the fact that, even when Lowe does teach, he just reads off of a slide presentation that you have access to. You can either read the textbook, listen in class, or read the powerpoints. You don't need to waste time doing two of these things because they all give the exact same info. He doesn't take attendance or care if you show up.

TL:DR - Lowe is a terrible teacher (but a necessary one if you want to get into O&G business because he's a bigwig), but you can sign up for this class, never go, and still be just as prepared as your classmates as long as you look at the powerpoints.

If you actually have a print out or a PDF version of the Due Diligence textbook saved on your computer, I would be willing to paypal you money for it (rate is negotiable)!

Love Sarah's suggestion that textbooks should be included with classes....but law school is like an (intellectual) boot camp. No mercy!

Is 3L OCI worth anything? I don't feel like we've heard much about it.

I've been working this summer but not at any BigLaw and haven't locked down any post-graduation employment.

Unfortunately I don't. I just printed off a few sections here and there as we went through class (probably not more than 30 pages or so). I mostly just read from the publishers site.

As of tonight, SMU Law Review members were still grading the entries. Last year, offers went out July 6-7th. So I figure that it'll be 5-7 days before any rising 2Ls hear anything.

This is relevant to my interests as well. Also, generally, which clinic is the easiest and how many hours do you get for a clinic?

My understanding is clinics range anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, and you'll get at least an A- if you just follow instructions. Child Ad is 5 credit hours, Crim is 6.

Small Business Clinic and Child Ad are probably the least work. from what I have been told. Child Ad may take a little bit more time, but the work is supposed to be interesting and go by quickly.

Was also told to not really worry about how much work, but make sure it's something you are interested in, because then the work will go by a lot faster. Don't just take it for the credit hours or you'll be miserable.

Does anyone have any insight on Lowe's Oil and Gas exam or Stahl's ADR exam?

Stahl's ADR exam is really easy. 2 hours in length. I think it's 5-7 short essay questions based on his lectures and one question is from the Ury book. Stahl is very grandfather-like. Easy class, easy exam.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
