Yay! But i have an 830 :'(Bildungsroman wrote:OMG I HAVE A CLASS POSTED!
Edit: they're all here!
Yes but sections have letter names. So section 01 of LRW is "Section A," then 02 was "Section B," etc.Bildungsroman wrote:So your section is whatever section # they list for LRW, right?
Partially correct. In terms of figuring out your section, you just take the number of your LRW class and assign it the corresponding letter in the alphabet.soupisgood wrote:Thanks soju
So just to clarify, my section #/letter is whatever is next to my LRW? For some of the courses I have a section # that is different from the one next to LRW. Does that just mean that my section and that section will be combined for that particular class?
Yes, thank you for explaining that far more succinctly/coherently than the question was wordedCalifornia Babe wrote:Partially correct. The section "numbers" though don't mean anything beyond that. They only exist for the class registration system to differentiate between one class being offered at two different times. So each 1L class will be either section 1 or section 2, but that has nothing to do with your Bigelow section. All that means is there are two of the same class offered and the registration system needs a way to tell them a part. Did I explain that in a way that makes sense?
How do we know which books we need for each professor?Emma. wrote:Congrats on getting your section assignments! Definitely don't make my mistake and buy mostly all new books. Take advantage of lawannounce!
Thanks! I think that was the one I was thinking of.... Unfortunately, only two of my profs are mentioned.soupisgood wrote:Are you talking about this thread? It's the only one I had bookmarked.
I found that my books show up on BN. Question: anyone know what "Bookstore recommends" means? There are supplements recommended for a number of my classes, but I can't tell if it's the supplement chosen by the prof or if it's just some random supplement that the bookstore has decided they can get me to buy based on the course title.sojuteacher wrote:This link is for the books, for those interested.

Only my contracts course has the book list set up yet.
FYI, ~same~ price for a new version on amazon as a used version from the bookstore.
I'm not sure. I'm not going to buy supplements until I know whether or not the prof him/herself is recommending one.hurricane wrote:I found that my books show up on BN. Required books for LRW?coolgreen42 wrote:Bookstore recommends seems to be just that... nothing to do with the prof (as far as I can tell).
My LRW section had required and recommended books that were not merely store recommended. I think it's just B&N trying to fool you into spending more money there.
Well jokes on you B&N because you almost made me spend extra on Amazon.
The bookstore says Writing a Legal Memo and the Bluebook are both required for my LRW.Xifeng wrote:Required LRW book=the Bluebook
