On my status checker, it still just says "commitment form received" and the status date so I was a bit worried as well, but on the bottom left it says class deposit, then there it says that I paid it (amt paid and date paid are all filled in). I sent it in on Monday as well, though I'm much closer than Korea.

I'm in cal too. Sent out SAturday late afternoon though, so I still might have made the Saturday cut off for pick up, though I'm inclined to think I was a bit late for that and it went out on Monday.
Date paid on 1/12. Did your parents make sure to add a note with your full name/lsac number and anything else?
SHould be fine either way, since you just need to have it postmarked by the 15th. If you dont hear anything by tomorrow, you can always email the address in the website to let them know it's en route (considering one of the options was to email them if you couldnt pay it on time, I'm assuming they are pretty open to when they receive, esp if it's already in the mail).

im pretty sure they will give yall EDers a week or two of leeway on those deposits. There is no way they are going to revoke their offer and hurt their own USNWR rankings (accepting someone who doesnt enroll) just because you were a little latetrudat15 wrote:soupisgood wrote: I actually had my parents (in Cali) send it in.. which is why I'm a little more concerned. I remember reading somewhere about the 15th being a bit flexible. Now I remember. This is from the ASW login info email:HowdyYall wrote:im pretty sure they will give yall EDers a week or two of leeway on those deposits. So it's all goodRemember to check the website regularly because we will be updating it throughout the winter and spring. In addition, please note that this website contains instructions for reserving your seat in the Class of 2014 and submitting your deposit. We request that you postmark your deposit on or before January 15. If you need additional time, please let us know.

I live in Alabama so nobody has heard of Chicago or knows it's a good school, but earlier a professor freaked out when he heard I got in. Is it weird that it made my morning?

Aww, I totally know what you mean, Eskimo. I'm currently living in Europe and every time I hear from a new school and tell someone they go, "Oh...so have you heard from Harvard, yet?" TLS is pretty much the only place where I can share my admissions triumphs these days.eskimo wrote:I live in Alabama so nobody has heard of Chicago or knows it's a good school, but earlier a professor freaked out when he heard I got in. In other news, so stoked about Chicago! Looking forward to getting the admissions package next week. <3 <3

Dont even get me started.. Im over in Tennessee. Told a lady I was applying to UChicago and was surprised when she seemed to know what school it was. Told me a big long story about how she had started working again b/c they were trying to get together $20,000 to send their son, who had just been accepted, there. She then showed me a picture of her son.. He was wearing a University of Illinois-Chicago sweatshirt.eskimo wrote:I live in Alabama so nobody has heard of Chicago or knows it's a good school, but earlier a professor freaked out when he heard I got in. Not to mention the look of confusion on peoples face when I used to tell them I had been accepted to Duke/Vanderbilt but was still waiting on Stanford.

It has always been my contention that everyone should know the top ten graduate programs within every field of study so that when someone who has just been accepted by one of these programs is going around fishing for compliments I can provide the proper amount of praise to the individual.

Hey all-
Anyone going to try to make it to both Chicago and Northwestern's ASWs? They're the same weekend. Any clue how to make it work? If I miss some events will it effect my stipend?

I'm thinking of skipping the Thursday night event to go to the Bulls Celtics game. Anybody want to join me?
