Little late to this party, but I got in 11/15. I was considering it as a DC safety if I didn't get into GULC/GW/GMU, but I'm getting more excited about it looking at the employment stats. American appears to outcompete GMU in the employment area, higher median income and higher % of 2008 class reporting.

Of course the 2009 numbers will be lower, but I expect GMU's to be proportionately lower at well.

It's a tough call.

I love AU because of their professors and facilities, but the employment outlook is still grim. We cant put too much stock into those 2008 numbers. They represent a time when legal hiring was booming and the economy was better. While I do believe that the economy and the legal hiring picture will improve within the next 2 years, it wont go back to the 2005-2008 levels. So, you'll have to get really good grades and network a lot if you want to have a shot at landing a decent paying job post graduation.

Unemployment is still very high in the US and just went up for November, again.

You also have to take into consideration the cost of the school. GMU is much cheaper tuition wise and therefore one would be in less debt when they graduate.

I think I would take GMU over American for that reason. Plus GMU is very accessible by public transportation, and coming from California, I would rather not need a car as that just adds to cost of living expenses.

I applied ED so If I am accepted I am going. American has been my #1 choice for the last year b/c of its public interest focus and programs. I went complete 11/11 and still waiting. Hope to find out soon!

I have the same question. What is a good way to apartment search? I live in Texas so I am not sure if I can take a trip.

Living in DC is a bitch. Compouding this problem is the fact that WCL is in a suburban area. Lots of homes, but not many apartments for rent.

I'm in Miami, but I plan on taking a trip to DC sometime in March or April to go apartment hunting.

If any of you attend ASW you can ask housing questions then and search around.

Hell, some of us can always rent a house out. There's some really nice places near WCL.

is anyone able to login to the myAU portal thing?

every time I try it just says "Constituency redirection is enabled but the user does not have a primary constituency."

Did you create your username on "MyAU" yet? If you havent, go ahead and do that. If you have, it usually takes about a day after you create your username for it work on MyWCL.

Logic games arent that hard brah. They all follow the same pattern.

Also, damn! Way to make AU sound crappy. "Probably going here" because you did poorly on LG.

I just got in and Im pretty stoked because its high up on my list. Out of curiosity does anyone know where we look for our scholarship info? The email said to create an account and we will be able to access it. I did that but couldn't find the info.

Same here, I've been digging around the myAU portal but haven't seen anything. I've heard that AU doesn't give out that much money but I could be wrong since I can't remember where I heard that from...
