Columbia v. U Chicago v. NYU

I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight about how they'd go about choosing between these schools? I've been accepted at Columbia and NYU and had an interview at Chicago. My goal is to clerk on the federal appellate level and I'm also interested in Academia. Also have a strong interest in the D.C. market (I was accepted at GULC but I don't think I could turn down one of CCN for GULC). Thank you!

All else equal Iād go to Chicago. Way stronger clerkship placement power and the school also places relatively well in academia. You should know academia is a long and treacherous road, even out of YLS; unless maybe you are a STEM PhD and are doing something less popular, like tax, finreg, or IP

Of CCN, Columbia and U Chicago will definitely provide the best opportunity to secure that type of clerkship. Choose a C not the N. Additionally, if you value on-campus learning, Chicago might provide the best path to achieving that this semester. Great options - kudos!

Go for Chi if you are admitted.
Chicago and Columbia's clerkship numbers are not even close:

At my T13, there were several Chicago alums in the faculty, but only a couple Columbia JDs.
You'll probably be able to save some money on COL in Chi v. Manhattan.

OP here--Thank you guys for the comments/advice and wow that website is super helpful (thanks for sharing that too). I think my initial instinct was that CLS' brand was more recognizable which I thought could open more doors. But that definitely doesn't looks like it's necessarily the case.

At my CCN, I have yet to meet a prof who's a Chicago alum. I've already had 3 Columbia alums as a 1L.
