Hey TLS! I wanted to start this thread for those of us waitlisted at GULC, so we can hopefully monitor movement over the summer.
Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for lots of WL movement.

Curious how many of us there actually are....anyway hope to hear something by the deadline on the 24th or July 4th when the big schools have decisions

Based on reddit info and speculation, there are at least 5 haha.
Wouldn’t it be nice if it’s just us, and after the deposit deadline, they let us all in?

Hope we don’t get many more than that! But hoping to hear back after this deadline. Unless there’s another wave of people who did not get a response last time

I think the first batch of acceptances has to decide today.....

Any idea how waitlist movement works since they say they don’t rank the waitlist? Now that the first seat deposit deadline has passed, do you think they will start to dip into the WL pool or will there be more waves first?

I don’t think the waves and the deposit deadline are necessarily dependent upon each other...I mean there might be a chance they start looking at the list in the next week since I’m assuming a decent amount of people did not deposit. But realistically I think they won’t bother until after next week since at that point you will have Harvard and NYU decisions out. Which is a size able number of applicants who apply to GULC as well.

So hopefully after July 4 weekend

I think that there will be more rounds of acceptances first before moving to waitlist list.

Are you guys planning on doing write-on, if we still haven't heard back yet?

I didn't even think about that....last day you can finish is July 22...

Allegedly two people from that reddit poll....Hadn't heard of it otherwise.

FWIW, I got an offer on 6/17, deposited, then withdrew today. So potentially more movement coming for WL people.

I got the ole “class is closed but anything can happen over the summer” email this afternoon. Anyone else? I kind of expected another wave since some folks said they hadn’t heard back yet and it seems like some big schools are still rendering decisions. Not sure how to read it. Never expected to get off the WL anyway...

Yeah I think all us waitlisters got that. I thought it was super weird they said it like that lol. I still don't really *believe* the class is full, but if anyone can figure out what GULC is doing I'll shut up and listen. But YES there's still a lot of NYU spots I think. and *allegedly* the GULC official group chat is like 76 people (with 5 or 6 current students) so that's way short of the 105 from last year. Maybe there's something coming out this week?
