Chances of transferring? (Fordham -> Columbia)

If a 3.8+ places you in the top 10%, that at least gives you a shot. Second, NYU does not take as many transfers from below T2 than, say, GULC. This makes sense given that NYU is a T6. That said, if you're in the top 5% of your 1L class, you should be competitive.

Good luck!
What about top 10% at Fordham (3.72) for Columbia?

Probably getting in---pretty good chance, but it's not a lock.

In an ordinary year you should be competitive given your rank and Fordham's proximity to Columbia. But also remember that you are competing with many top 1-3% throughout T1, some of who are applying to Columbia as a back-up option.

One thing I should also mention is that (at least some) schools do evaluate your chances of employment at OCI when admitting transfers. Thus, any work experience in finance/consulting/law/similar client service industries or a good 1L summer position will help to the extent that there is a tie between you and another candidate. That said, grades are still paramount.

Hope this helps!
