Top Law Schools

I'm trying to transfer to a school ranked 25-30, currently at a school ranked 50-55, right outside the top 25% of my class based on 1st-semester grades. Has anybody with similar stats had any experience trying to transfer? The school offers an early decision within 14 days of the application going complete. Submitted 2/24, the last day to hear back from them is tomorrow. From what I know, a school will generally notify you after a week if you've been admitted. Should I be worried that the lack of timely correspondence is a conclusive no?

This is such a specific situation that it will be difficult for anyone to make a good forecast, especially since the only school in that range with such a program is Emory, and the program is pretty new. UGA also has a formal early-transfer process but does not ensure a decision within 14 days ("rolling basis" with decision by May 1). It is hard to say whether any school is more or less selective in their early transfer process unless they specifically say so.

As for Emory specifically, recent transfer GPA medians have been around 3.2-3.3, and the overwhelming majority of transfer matriculants come from non-top-50 schools. I would say your chances are good unless your school's curve is so brutal that someone close to top 25% is below 3.2. If you're above 3.3, I think your chances are good and would not read too much into the radio silence so far. Also, as I'm sure you know, you will be required to transfer to Emory if you get in, so plan accordingly.
