Transfer to Wash U

Hello, I'm a 1L that has finished their first semester at the University of Minnesota. I received a 3.6 which is around the top 20-25% according to the 1L quartiles.

Due to some personal reasons, I'd like to transfer into Wash U for my 2L and 3L year. Additionally, I applied to Wash U when initially applying and was waitlisted and eventually denied.

Is this something I have a good chance of doing? Also I read Arrow's post that mentions you can apply early to Wash U (after fall grades that is) and Wash U mentions rolling transfer admissions but it's not clear if they mean this early. Can I apply now? Should I apply now?

Finally, I do have a scholarship at UMN should I expect that to go away upon transfer?

Thanks a ton for any advice anyone can give.

Their median transfer GPA was 3.29, so you should have an easy time of getting in. Your GPA would also make you competitive for T14 schools, but if you're only transferring for personal reasons relating to WashU, sure.

The benefits to early applications are you can lock in an acceptance if you GPA dips to where it might be tougher to get in, and it allows you more certainty earlier in the semester. So if you really want to do this, do it.
