Yale Transfer 2018 Thread
Let's start this one as well (I haven't seen one opened yet). My application went complete today - they said the decision would be released the week of July 9.
Good luck everyone - although it might be a long shot for me.

I called and asked if decisions will be out before Harvard's deadline. Got the standard (non-)response that decisions will come when they come.

Re: Yale Transfer 2018 Thread
Does anyone have any idea when the deadline for accepting an offer would be (as in, how long after the phone call?)
For those of you who've gotten into HLS - how long after the call is their acceptance deadline? (I ask because I imagine Yale's will be similar)
Thanks!

In via phone cal around 3:56 PST!
Stats: UT/UCLA/Vandy 4.01, #5 in the class.
My Yale 250 definitely helped - I wrote something very academic: I used property rule/liability principles to analyze a international law issue recently decided by U.S. Supreme Court
Stats: UT/UCLA/Vandy 4.01, #5 in the class.

In via phone call around 6:50 PM EST!
Stats: NYU/Chicago/Columbia, top 10-20% (no actual ranking, but I'm approximating based on my average and the 1L curve). Applied via Fast Track (I was waitlisted last year), so they used my former personal statement and I just tweaked my old Yale 250. My guess is that my niche interests and letters of recommendation made up for my grades.
I am mostly posting so that future hopefuls can see that not being in the top 10% doesn't mean you don't have a shot.
Yale's acceptance deadline is Tuesday, June 17 at 5 PM (EST, presumably), if anyone is still wondering.

Congrats to you too! I am actually having a difficult time deciding between Y and H... Kinda miss being in a city. But I guess I am just overwhelmed by the excitement and will probably come to my sense tomorrow and decide on Y.empiricish wrote:Hey, congrats!!! Re: Yale Transfer 2018 Thread
Admitted today around noon MST. For posterity I was #2 at a T20 4.04 with 4 CALIs and one class where I got the second highest grade. Embarrassed to admit I hardly put any effort into the 250 words (wrote it the morning of the transfer app deadline). My personal statement probably helped though, and you guys can find a version of it by looking at my old posts.
Very, very excited.
Very, very excited.

Vandy doesn’t rank students (personal experience) and UT’s website claims it doesn’t rank them. UCLA’s website says it only ranks its top 12. So we can narrow this down to UCLA. Good news for future UCLA top students!
