Are you dead set on transferring? How much money are you getting from your current school?
If dead set, based on yuor your goals, probably Columbia. Although, your cost difference may end up being quite a bit higher w/ NYC prices.

Can't really go wrong if s/he's set on transferring.
NYC big firms recruit from Duke if your friend is concerned about that short term goal. Long term I'd consider where s/he'd want to practice down the line, but both have a pretty good national presence.

OP here. Friend is very determined on transferring. Says his/her scholarship at the first school isn't compelling enough to stay.
