Grades come out around June 1st at my school. If I started putting apps together now would it be too late? Would I be asking too much of professors to write me a letter of rec in 2 weeks?

I'm looking to apply to UCLA/USC if that makes any difference

Transfer applications are usually due in July so not sure why you think it's late? As for letters of recommendation - get them ASAP. That's the weakest link.

I applied to NYU the day before their filing deadline, and got my paperwork in the day before their second deadline.

I got in two days later and I'm graduating Thursday lol

If USC/UCLA are on a similar schedule, it should be NBD at this stage. Just get recs ASAP if they're required.

Just get the letters of rec and then make your decision to apply / not to apply based on your grades. The apps themselves are simple.

I decided to apply on Saturday June 13 two years ago. The application deadline for most of the schools I was interested in was Monday June 15. I obviously don't recommend waiting that long, but it worked out fine for me. Transferred to Harvard and graduate next week.

Don't be afraid to ask for LORs via e-mail this late in the game as well. (with the option of a phone call)
