Top third of my class (3.02 GPA) at a TTT on the west coast, looking to transfer to one of the schools in Minnesota (University of Minnesota, St. Thomas, Mitchell-Hamline). Clearly my first choice is UofM, but what are my chances? My letter of recommendation is from one of my professors who graduated from UofM and was previously a professor at St. Thomas. Not sure what else matters from my application, prior military and URM.

Try to get your grades up for Minnesota. ABA 509 has the median GPA of transfers at a 3.18 or so... I found these to be really useful for when I transferred. Wherever I was in the medians (I got in), and where I wasn't, I didn't. Regardless of rank.

You seem to have a pretty specific desire. A need to be in the area can help boost candidacy for transfers.
