Silly question regarding OCI

I was recently accepted into Berkeley and I read that they do "lottery system EIW"

What's the difference between a "lottery system" and "bidding"? Or are they the same thing? Are there any other types? And lastly, do I have to be on campus during EIW or is it all electronic? I live far away from Boalt and would rather not travel if I don't have to.

Lottery system and bidding are the same thing. There is another way, pre-selecting, through which employers can choose who they conduct screener interviews with on campus, rather than being matched with interviewees.

Yes, you need to be on campus for EIW, unless you plan on trying to set up 10+ skype interviews with firms that are expecting you to be there.
