Top Law Schools

I am looking to transfer out of a TTTT school located in the southeast. I am ranked number 1 in my class with a 3.96 GPA. Before investing a bunch of money in applications, I was wondering what my chances would be of getting into a T14. I am currently planning to transfer to Alabama but am trying to consider all of my options.

I'd say just apply as your heart desires. Pretty good chance at low t14 IMO

Given the transfer class sizes, I feel like you'd at least have a strong shot with GULC. Not sure about the others though, since transferring is (from what I hear, anyway) usually dependent on class rank and school rank.

Hedge your "bet" with GULC, then apply at your leisure to rest of T14... I think you have a good chance. NW, NYU, and Columbia take relatively big transfer classes (from what I remember), and might as well take a shot at Harvard.

ETA: Given the difference in potential outcomes, I think applying broadly is worth the $500~ investment to apply to several schools.

I'd say a lock for GULC. I wouldn't apply broadly - look at the 509 reports, some schools are really transfer-adverse. Unfortunately you're in the SE and Duke/UVa are some of those averse schools iirc.

I would also only transfer in to T14's. Bama's not going to be worth it at sticker.

A UM transfer I know was #1 at a T4. I would apply there (although the transfer class has gotten smaller since then).

I'd also apply to NU. Duke is more of stretch as they take a small class. Don't waste an app at UVA as they take like half VA natives out of a small class.
