Had a missed call from some weird West Palm Beach number like 20 min ago and started freaking out it was possibly HLS or Chicago. Called back repeatedly over 15 minutes and continuous busy message. THEN... acceptance email came in right after I gave up! Phew...

Thanks. Still have a fainting glimmer of hope for HLS, but I think they reached their quota for my school. The waiting game continues until I get a definite no. lol

Those that got admitted today have until 7/13 to decide. The 5 day timeline tells me they are waiting for some of these people to withdraw before finalizing offers. Hardly think they are done though. With some folks being admitted into HLS and either withdrawing last night/today, I think they will have a number of other spots to offer.

Are you talking about those who applied RD and didn't get decisions, or those who applied ED?

Last year once the admits went out on July 8th, nobody posted "admitted" or "dinged" after the admits. In 2012, there were nothing but dings after July 13th acceptances, going all the way to July 27th. (pretty brutal wait, not doing that to myself)

I'm pretty sure it's over. They probably just holding in case they get mass withdrawls in the next few days.

I hesitate to believe that they only have one wave of admits, especially given that their first wave came on the heals of the Harvard wave. My opinion is that they admitted those whom they thought had a good chance at getting into Harvard, so that these students would have an option to choose between H and UofC. I expect we will see another wave of admissions by the end of this week or early next week, after they have figured out who is choosing H and who is choosing UofC.

What would they do to you if you renege? Just do what you have to do. The schools would just replace you with another from their waitlist. I'm sure it wouldn't be groundbreaking.

That is precisely what makes this cycle different. In my mind, the facts that no dings and holds have been sent out yet implies that they are hedging their bets, they do not want to reject people when they are not sure if the ones they admitted are coming in. Further, it does not seem that those who were deferred from ED(myself included) have received a response yet, at least not from what we can tell on this forum.

Edit: Does anyone have an estimate on how many people were admitted RD?
