Top Law Schools

Hey all!

I'm looking to transfer from a T2 school outside of California to a law school within the state. I am originally from The SF Bay Area and my goal is to practice law in the silicon valley region at a mid-size or in-house (Possibly High-tech, not really aiming for IP law because I don't have a hard sciences/engineering background.)

My standing 1L year was in the top 20%, so I was only accepted into Hastings, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Loyola and USF.

I've done research on all of these schools and it seems that they all have dim employment prospects/reviews, at least in regards to my career goals. I was aiming for Santa Clara since it is exactly where I wish to practice, but some of the post-grad remarks about the school were very frightening (albeit the majority of what I read was posted prior to 2013, so I cannot confirm that the difficulties facing the school are still as major as they were several years ago). Additionally, if I attend a Bay Area school, I can save by commuting from my permanent residence.

Does anyone have any advice on which of these schools I should consider? If not these schools, are there any recommended strategies that I could consider at this point for better prospects? I have the ability to apply to other schools, but my 1L credentials will not be changing (due to certain circumstances). I feel kind of stuck and I'm not sure how to advance at this point. Would Santa Clara really be that detrimental to attend?

UCH would probably be your best option assuming they accept you. I'm pretty sure your 1L has not concluded yet so perhaps you meant this as a hypothetical situation.
