How do people that transfer to GULC fare in OCI and job placement? As a transfer, I'd be arriving at GULC and then literally walking into OCI a day later. I'm curious as to how transfers fare getting jobs/SAs for biglaw -- anyone have anything?

GULC is only 30% pre-select so transfers get usually at least 10 OCI interviews if you bid correctly. By bidding correctly I mean don't put firms that are a reach in your top 10-20, putting less sought after firms at the top of your list will enhance your chances of getting those interviews. The rest falls on you in the interview, but note you're judged based on the school you transferred from, not based on being a GULC student. As a transfer I received a good amount of OCI interviews and an ok amount of call-backs. In the end, however, I ended up getting an offer from mass mailing, which I recommend you do religiously when that time comes (late June-ish). All of the transfers that I know here, including myself, have gotten big law so I'd say, overall, transfer fare pretty well in job placement.

I transferred and I got received multiple offers for 2016. I know others who transferred who also have SA's (mine were in DC, others mostly NYC). TCR is to mass mail. Everyone will ask you why you wanted to transfer (look to see if your interviewer went to your old school to come up with a better answer than prestige) and if you want DC, everyone will ask you if you want to stay in DC. I don't think (but I could be wrong) DC cares that much about ties but it was something I was asked in CB's with some regularity.
