Unique Situation

I'm not sure if anyone would have any insight into this, but I can't seem to find anything online.

Info: Student at a T1 school (30-50 rank). I completed 1L year last year (top 10%), currently in spring semester of my first year at the business school as part of the JD/MBA program (I realize JD/MBA may not have been the best decision - fortunately it has not cost me any money so if judgments could be set aside for now it would be appreciated). So technically I am still a 1L for all transfer intents and purposes. Considering transferring at this point (OK with losing the MBA), want to know if the class rank that is sent to schools will be the rank with my 1L cohort, or if I will be merged into the new 1L class ranking. Any thoughts?

This is so school specific, idk if anyone is going to be able to answer this. But what are your goals? Biglaw?

So you're going to bail on free business school after a year, transfer and do OCI at the new school? What are you going to say in interviews about all that?

Just a lot of factors going on here.

I'd imagine I would explain it the same way many transfers explain their decision to leave. Opportunities didn't match goals. I thought the MBA may add value but I'm seeing that it hasn't (I know I probably should've taken some TLS advice prior to doing it). BigLaw is the goal but it had to be tempered against the fact that I didn't know where I was going to end up grade wise after 1L. I didn't transfer before because I thought with the high grades and the MBA I'd have a good shot where I am. I'm finding that's not the case.
