RED RIVER RIVALRY TRADE

So, I am a 1L at the University of Oklahoma School of Law. I was W/L by UT when during my cycle last year, but ended up w/d and choosing OU (Resident tuition is insanely low +plus I was given good $$". I have enjoyed my 1L thus far, but I am considering sending UT a transfer app. I am currently ranked in the top 25% of my class. If I finish in the top 25% after the second semester, what are my chances with UT?
I am a URM, and have above average softs .
Thanks in advance!

UT's transfer numbers have been all over the place of late, so any prediction is going to be subject to which way they're going this year. (2013-2015 transfer classes have been 59, 43, and 38, respectively; prior to that, it hovered around 10).
In that environment, 25% at OU is on the bubble, and probably bubble-out rather than bubble-in. If you can bump up your performance a little bit you'll be in much better shape because you're close to the margins.

I know a guy who made the jump to UT from OU with numbers similar to yours. I think it helps to be from Texas. I also think your URM status can help you too. Of course, you should focus on your grades this semester so that you can have this as an option to consider. Even if you don't transfer, OU places decently in TX. Also, know that your OU grades will be the grades that employers will look at even during an OCI with UT, so ideally you'll want to have the best grades possible to show them. Being barely on the transfer bubble, grades-wise, might make it more challenging during the job hunt.

Thanks for both of your replies!
I will keep my head down and try to crack that top 15%, then go from there!

Is he a current student? or has he graduated? Did he say if he felt like he made the right decision?
