The school i'm transferring to doesn't include transfer students in class rank even after they've taken classes and gotten grades at the new school. Does this help, hurt, or not affect me at all? They do award graduation honors, if applicable.

Yes I'm wondering for clerkship purposes and other positions that don't really hire until 3L.

Usually transfers get factored in after 2L, it's just that their 1L grades don't count.

Yeah I mean the curve for upper level classes is different so ranking transfers seems inherently unfair. Regardless, I want to know if not being able to include class rank on my resume will hurt me in the future.

P.S. I'm not outing the school.

Will you at least tell us if it is a T14 or not? Many people here are transferring to those schools, so your anonymity will be protected.

It's not.

It shouldn't hurt. If you're putting up numbers worthy of a clerkship, it should be fairly apparent to the judge anyway. And for 3L hiring, they'll either have an idea of what people from your school put up or they'll not be as terribly concerned by rank as they are by what you bring to the position.
