So I have to say, if you’re at all torn about attending HLS, then as one of those who haven’t heard back yet, I’ll respectfully urge you to consider not attending the school.

I've heard they accept 40-50 knowing ~30 will attend. I'm not sure anyone choosing not to go will affect anyone else's odds. Is anyone hearing advice one way or another regarding being top studenst at T1 regional vs going to H with no accolades?

Two things that I keep coming back to when running these scenarios through my head (granted I'm coming from a T2 70-80):FLS wrote:I've heard they accept 40-50 knowing ~30 will attend. (1) Implicit in attending HLS as a transfer applicant is the fact that you had a tremendous 1L year at your previous school and achieved quite a few accolades. That will be noted and understood by employers.
(2) Your resume, which is effectively your only way of initially conveying to employers your accomplishments, is not scrubbed clean of your previous school and your achievements there. All your accolades (moot court, law review, GPA) can be reflected on your resume and communicated to employers explicitly.
Now if the actual participation in groups like moot court and law review, and simply having that high rank and GPA is more important to you than an HLS degree, which for you T20 folks may very well be the case, then there's not likely no reason to leave.

Probably a good idea.NoDayButToday wrote:I'm emotionally moving on. Another wave could come, but the number of people reporting on TLS seemed high and if they take comparable numbers to previous years, I feel like they probably notified at least a high proportion of the students they selected for admission, if not all of them.lawstudent212 wrote:Holding on hope for another wave of acceptancesmorrison124 wrote:A lot of people got accepted yesterday. Re: Harvard Transfer Thread 2015
Hi everyone!
I am a 3L at HLS who transferred last year from GW. To all those accepted, congratulations and welcome to HLS! 3L transfers are all SO EXCITED to meet you if you choose to accept! We just set up a Facebook group for the Transfer Class of 2017. It is a secret group on Facebook in case you don't want anyone to know that you may be leaving just yet. If you were accepted, direct message me, and I can add you to the group! If anyone has any other questions (about admissions, life as a transfer, housing, etc.), feel free to ask!
Once more, congrats to those who were recently accepted, and good luck to all those waiting!

Dinged via email just now. Stats:
T1 (40-50)
Top 1%
This sucks. But I figured it would happen after I didn't get in on Thursday. Oh well.
