Top Law Schools

Currently 1L at Nova. My problem is English which is my 3d language.I moved to US one year ago. Obviously, my English isn't that good yet which makes it harder to compete with people that were born in this country. My GPA allows me to transfer to FIU next year. However, since FIU has a much better ranking, I figured its gonna be much harder to study in that school. I def don't wanna flunk out but I really would like to go to a higher-ranking school.

Definitely try to transfer. In Miami FIU is cheaper and has a better reputation. I think everybody knows that anybody could get into Nova or St. Thomas.

On to that note, Nova, St. Thomas and other 4 tiers have a huge GPA curve in order to keep students from leaving. So if you did well in Nova, I think you could definitely do well in FIU. My best friend is in FIU law and she often mentions that there is a lot of internationals there. So you will not be the only one whose English is not perfect. Good luck!

Actually, it is easier to flunk out at Nova and other fourth tier schools than at FIU because of the absurdly low gpa curve at Nova. 100% transfer if you can.

Schools that are lower ranked have a worst curve because they don't want you to leave!!!

The only reason you should be trying to transfer from Nova to FIU is to save $$$$$ as FIU is a public school but the job prospects are basically the same at both schools: Small-Law, Government work, with the bottom twenty percent of the class having a tough time finding jobs. The only real difference is that at Nova, you're mostly limited to working in Palm Beach/Broward after law school and at FIU, you're mostly limited to working in Dade. Don't buy into the whole "Tier 3 vs. Tier 4" crap. It's way overblown
